COMPRESS IMAGE TO 20 KB

Compress a photo to under 20 KB

Exam applications and recruitment portals often ask for a scanned signature of 10–20 KB and a photo of 20–50 KB, and the upload fails if the file is even 1 KB over. The 20 KB limit is already selected below: drop your photos and download them ready to upload.

HOW TO USE IT
  1. Drop one or more photos onto the box, or press the button to choose them. JPG, PNG, WebP and iPhone HEIC photos are accepted.
  2. Leave the compression at under 20 KB. Keep the output as JPG if the image is for a form.
  3. Press the button to process them, check the before and after weight of each one, and download them one by one or in a ZIP.
HOW IT WORKS

How it reaches 20 KB

20 KB is the size of a small thumbnail: about 300–400 px on the long side. That is enough for a signature or a passport-style photo if the image is cropped tight. CLEKARA lowers the resolution step by step and keeps the sharpest version that fits.

The limit is counted strictly: 20 KB means 20,000 bytes, so the file is accepted whether the website counts in thousands or in 1,024s.

LIMITS

What it cannot do

Very small limits force a lower resolution: a photo cannot keep 12 megapixels in 50 KB. If an image could only reach the target by becoming unrecognizable, you get the smallest reasonable version and a note saying so.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

My signature looks grey and blurry after compressing. How do I fix it?

Sign with a black pen on white paper, photograph it in good light and crop it to the signature only before compressing. Less background means the 20 KB are spent on the ink.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. They are processed by your browser and never sent to a server.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes, including iPhone HEIC photos straight from the gallery.

Can I pick a different limit?

Yes. Choose another option in Compression, or “Custom maximum weight” to type any value in KB.
