Compress a photo to under 100 KB
Online applications, student IDs, visa forms and many company HR portals ask for a photo of no more than 100 KB. The 100 KB limit is already selected below: drop your photos and download them ready to upload.
Drop the images you want to compress
JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC · several at once
- Drop one or more photos onto the box, or press the button to choose them. JPG, PNG, WebP and iPhone HEIC photos are accepted.
- Leave the compression at under 100 KB. Keep the output as JPG if the image is for a form.
- Press the button to process them, check the before and after weight of each one, and download them one by one or in a ZIP.
How it reaches 100 KB
100 KB holds a clear portrait of around 800–1000 px on the long side. CLEKARA tries the highest quality first and only lowers resolution when compression alone is not enough, so faces stay recognizable.
The limit is counted strictly: 100 KB means 100,000 bytes, so the file is accepted whether the website counts in thousands or in 1,024s.
What it cannot do
Very small limits force a lower resolution: a photo cannot keep 12 megapixels in 50 KB. If an image could only reach the target by becoming unrecognizable, you get the smallest reasonable version and a note saying so.
Frequently asked questions
Should I keep JPG or switch to WebP?
Keep JPG for forms: it is the format every website accepts. WebP is lighter at the same quality and is fine for your own website, but many upload forms still reject it.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. They are processed by your browser and never sent to a server.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, including iPhone HEIC photos straight from the gallery.
Can I pick a different limit?
Yes. Choose another option in Compression, or “Custom maximum weight” to type any value in KB.
