HEIC TO JPG

Convert HEIC photos to JPG

iPhones save photos as .heic, which Windows, many websites and many forms will not open. Turn them into ordinary JPG files that work everywhere, without uploading them anywhere.

HEIC

Drop your iPhone HEIC photos here

.heic or .heif photos · several at once · JPG, PNG or WebP work too

HOW TO USE IT
  1. Add your .heic or .heif photos; you can drop a whole folder's worth at once.
  2. Keep JPG and High (90%) quality, or pick PNG and a maximum size if you need smaller files.
  3. Press Convert to JPG and download each photo or all of them in a ZIP.
HOW IT WORKS

How the conversion works

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) stores the photo compressed with the HEVC video codec. Safari can open it, but Chrome, Edge and Firefox cannot, so CLEKARA brings its own decoder: libheif, the same open-source library used by Linux photo apps, compiled to WebAssembly and run inside your browser. It loads once, only when you add a HEIC photo.

Each photo is decoded at full resolution, rotated the way your iPhone showed it and saved as a high-quality JPG. Location (GPS), camera details and other metadata are not copied, which is handy when you share photos with strangers.

LIMITS

Worth knowing

Live Photos and bursts become a single still image (the main photo). HDR and 10-bit photos are converted to normal 8-bit color, as any JPG requires.

The first HEIC photo takes a few seconds longer while the 3 MB decoder downloads. On older phones, very large batches are faster on a computer.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert HEIC to JPG on Windows?

Open this page in Chrome or Edge, drop the .heic files, press Convert to JPG and download the ZIP. You do not need to install the HEIF extension from the Microsoft Store.

Does it lose quality?

At High (90%) the difference is not visible; choose Maximum (95%) for printing. The resolution is never reduced unless you choose a maximum size.

Can I convert many photos at once?

Yes, up to 120 per batch. Download them one by one or all together in a ZIP.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. They are decoded and converted inside this browser tab, so they never leave your device.

How do I stop my iPhone taking HEIC photos?

Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible. New photos will be JPG; the ones you already have stay HEIC.
