Text in reading order, not a jumble
A PDF stores text as pieces placed at positions on the page, not as sentences. CLEKARA reads every piece with its coordinates and rebuilds the lines, the spaces between words and the paragraph breaks from the real distances, so the result reads like the document.
The .txt file is saved in UTF-8 with the marker that makes Notepad and Excel show accents and ñ correctly.
Worth knowing
Scanned pages are pictures with no text inside; they come out empty and CLEKARA tells you how many there are.
Plain text has no columns, tables or formatting. To keep tables, use PDF to Excel; to keep the layout, PDF to Word.
Frequently asked questions
How do I copy all the text from a PDF?
Open it here, press Extract text and then Copy all. You can paste it anywhere.
Why is some page empty?
That page is a scanned image: there is no text inside it, only a picture of text.
Are accents and special characters kept?
Yes. The text is exported in UTF-8, so á, ñ, ü and any other alphabet are kept.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The text is extracted inside this browser tab.
