Generate a strong password
Random, secure passwords made with your browser's cryptographic generator. Choose length and characters, and copy the one you like.
Your new password
Generated on your device with the browser's cryptographic random generator. They are never sent or stored anywhere.
- Choose the length — 16 or more is a good default — and the types of characters.
- Tick Avoid look-alike characters if you will have to type it by hand.
- Copy the password and save it in your password manager.
Truly random, and never seen by anyone
Each character is chosen with the browser's cryptographic random generator, the same source used for encryption, with a method that gives every character exactly the same chance. Every type you tick is guaranteed to appear at least once.
The passwords are created on your device and are not sent or stored anywhere. The strength shown is the entropy in bits: around 80 bits or more is practically impossible to guess.
Good habits
Use a different password for every site, and keep them in a password manager rather than in a note.

Frequently asked questions
How long should a password be?
At least 12 characters; 16 or more with mixed characters is a strong default.
Are these passwords safe?
Yes. They come from a cryptographic random generator and never leave your device.
Why avoid look-alike characters?
So you do not confuse O with 0 or l with 1 if you ever have to type the password by hand.
Do you store the passwords?
No. Nothing is sent or saved; reload the page and they are gone.
