HOW TO USE IT
  1. Add your images. JPG, PNG and WebP are all accepted, and you can select several at once.
  2. Set the order and choose a page size. Fit to image gives each page the exact shape of its picture; the fixed sizes centre the image on A4 or Letter with an optional margin.
  3. Press Create PDF and download the document.
HOW IT WORKS

Nothing is stretched or cropped

With a fixed page size the image is scaled to fit inside the page and centred, keeping its proportions. With Fit to image the page takes the exact dimensions of the picture, so there are no margins at all.

Some images cannot be embedded in a PDF as they are: progressive JPEGs, CMYK JPEGs and files that carry an EXIF rotation. CLEKARA re-encodes only those, honouring the orientation, and tells you afterwards how many were converted.

LIMITS

JPG, PNG and WebP

JPG and PNG are embedded directly. WebP, and the special JPEG cases above, are re-encoded first because the PDF format cannot store them as they are.

With Fit to image, a 4000-pixel photo produces a page measured in thousands of points — it looks right on screen, but a PDF reader will scale it when printing. Choose A4 or Letter if the document is meant to be printed.

Up to 120 images per document, and PNG transparency is flattened onto white.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Are the images distorted?

No. They are always scaled proportionally and centred, and with Fit to image the page takes the exact shape of the picture.

Can I use PNG or WebP?

Yes. PNG is embedded directly; WebP is re-encoded to JPEG first, because PDF cannot store WebP.

Why does it say some images were re-encoded?

Progressive JPEGs, CMYK JPEGs and images with an EXIF rotation cannot be embedded as they are. Those are converted so that they display correctly in every PDF reader.

In what order do the pages come out?

Exactly the order shown in the list, which you can change by dragging or with the arrows.
