Booklet imposition, explained
In a stapled booklet the first sheet carries the last page and page 1 on one side, and pages 2 and the second-to-last on the other. CLEKARA computes that order for every sheet and adds blank pages at the end when the total is not a multiple of four.
Thick booklets do not fold well, so long documents can be split into signatures — small booklets of 4, 5 or 8 sheets that are stacked and bound together. Pages are placed as vectors, so text stays sharp.
Worth knowing
Print at actual size (100 %), not “fit to page”. Most printers call the right duplex option “flip on short edge”.
With many sheets the inner pages stick out a little (creep); trimming the open edge after stapling fixes it.
